    Product description

Triclopyr 4 is a systemic, selective herbicide that controls woody plants and broadleaf weeds in various non-crop and turf areas.

    How it works:
Triclopyr is a synthetic auxin, a type of plant hormone. When absorbed by the target plant through its leaves and roots, it mimics and disrupts the plant's natural growth regulators, causing uncontrollable, unsustainable growth that ultimately kills the plant.
    Primary uses:

Triclopyr 4 is effective at eliminating a variety of tough, invasive plants while leaving grasses mostly unharmed, which makes it ideal for several applications.
    • Forestry: Used to control unwanted woody plants and help establish desirable tree species.
    • Pastures and rangelands: Controls brush, perennial, and annual broadleaf weeds.
    • Rights-of-way: Clears fence rows, roadsides, industrial sites, and other non-crop areas.
    • Ornamental turf: Kills broadleaf weeds in lawns, golf courses, and sod farms.
    Application methods:
Triclopyr 4 is available as a concentrate that must be mixed with water or oil before application. Always follow the manufacturer's directions for specific mixing ratios.
    • Foliar spray: For general applications, the mixture is sprayed directly onto the leaves of the target plants.
    • Basal bark treatment: For woody plants with small stems, a higher concentration mixture with an oil base is applied to the lower portion of the stem.
    • Cut-stump treatment: A highly concentrated solution is applied directly to the freshly cut surface of a stump to prevent resprouting.
    Important considerations:
    • Turfgrass sensitivity: Some varieties of turfgrass, such as bentgrass, bermudagrass, and St. Augustine grass, are sensitive to triclopyr and may be injured by it.
    • Timing: For best results, apply the herbicide when weeds and woody plants are actively growing.
    • Wait to reseed: Do not reseed treated areas for at least three weeks after application.
    • Use with a surfactant: A spray adjuvant or surfactant is recommended to improve the herbicide's effectiveness, especially on plants with waxy leaves.
    • Read the label: Always consult the product's label for specific instructions, safety precautions, and restrictions
